Things to do while Staying in Blouberg

Bloubergstrand is one of Cape Town's most popular destinations thanks to a fantastic white sandy beach and views of Table Mountain and Robben Eiland.

It is extremely popular for its board surfing and kite surfing, especially at Eden on the Bay, the "Surfer Valley". Eden on the Bay offers a lot of pubs and shops. The area attracts lots of tourists and is a very popular place to hang out and do some pub chatting.

Or play golf at the most famous Milnerton and Melkbosstrand Golf Courses, watch most beautiful sunsets over the Atlantic asea, dine in some of the best restaurants in the world, taste the best wines at many of the nearby wine estates and just enjoy the natural beauty of the Western Cape of South Africa.

Bloubergstrand and surroundings host shopping centres like Bayside Mall and spread through the area are chain stores, drive-thru Mc Donalds, Food Lovers Market, Checkers, Hyper Market to name a few.

Top class Medical services are available at Blaauwberg Netcare Hospital. Melkbos, another popular spot on the Atlantic Sea Board, is only a 15-minute drive from Bloubergstrand. It offers a lovely beach and some shops too. This part of Cape Town is the "beach valley". Milnerton is the closest to Cape Town and offers also massive industrial areas while its flat beach and restaurants make it a popular stopover place.

Blue Mountain Beach, as the area is also called, is a famous destination for filmmakers shooting popular movies and adverts. There are also quite a few spots where you can park your car, spend the day at the beach and braai. Alternatively, book one of our accommodation units that has braai facilities. The ever close Robben Island [where our former President Nelson Mandela spent many years], Cape Town Water Front, the "Kasteel" [where Jan van Riebeeck lived], Table Mountain Cable Car and Canal Walk are popular tourist destinations reachable by local bus services. Just across from Canal Walk is the Fun Park.
